Recreation, Education, Culture, and Fun!
SPRING: This year, our park season gets kicked off with Earth Day on April 20, followed by the Katharine Hepburn Garden Party on May 14 and Art in the Park on May 25.
SUMMER: Our Annual Membership Meeting is June 9th, followed on June 18 by a new event, the Dag Dog-a-Rama, geared to our canine friends and their owners. June brings garden planting,and other cultural programs. In August, the park has long been the site of National Night Out Against Crime.
FALL: On Labor Day weekend, we sponsor the Street Festival on 2nd Avenue. In fall, we celebrate Oktoberfest on October 1, with a children's jamboree of pumpkin decorating and carnival games. Then there’s another city-wide volunteer It's My Park Day held in October.
WINTER: We wind up the events calendar on December 7, with a Holiday Tree-lighting party and caroling. This event is geared to children, and includes cookie decorating and cocoa at the nearby Vanderbilt Y. During the winter months, we plan our budget and organize activities for the park season to come.
Be sure to visit the Greenmarket on Wednesdays, weather permitting.
